We're a Chemistry and Science specialist tuition centre built on one conviction — every student can understand Chemistry when it's taught the right way.
Why Twig was founded
Twig Learning Center was founded by a Chemistry educator who had seen too many capable students lose confidence in the subject — not because they weren't bright, but because Chemistry had never been explained in a way that made sense to them.
After years teaching in MOE schools and observing where students consistently struggled — the abstract concepts, the vague exam answers, the difficulty connecting theory to practice — Twig was built to fix those exact gaps.
Today, Twig specialises exclusively in Chemistry and Science across all key academic levels in Singapore. We keep our classes small, our teaching deliberate, and our focus entirely on understanding — not drilling.

Donnell began his teaching career as a pioneer teacher at Meridian Junior College — a brand-new school whose first students arrived with strong O Level scores. Teaching there sharpened his ability to simplify complex concepts and develop precise, exam-ready explanations so students knew exactly what to focus on and how to approach each question.
He later moved to Raffles Junior College, where he faced a different challenge: highly motivated students who went beyond the syllabus and expected to be intellectually stretched. This gave Donnell a rare breadth of experience — teaching effectively across the full spectrum, from students who were struggling to those who would settle for nothing less than an A.
His most celebrated result speaks for itself: in his RJC batch of 2006, 27 out of 28 students scored an 'A' for Chemistry. Since founding Twig Learning Center, he has continued that standard — approximately 90% of his students consistently achieve A or B grades.
Clarity Above All
Donnell believes a teacher must put himself in the student's shoes. Only by seeing a problem from the student's perspective can doubts be accurately addressed. His explanations are deliberately precise — students always know what to focus on.
Connection & Care
Inspired by John C. Maxwell's truth — "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care" — Donnell builds a classroom where students feel comfortable asking questions and are never afraid to be wrong.
Foundations Over Drilling
Rather than rote learning, Donnell focuses on building strong foundational concepts and helping students connect topics. Students who truly understand the basics can solve any higher-order application question the exam throws at them.
